In 1952, a blizzard swept across the Nebraska Sandhills, blanketing the Nebraska prairie with snow and trapping a small group of students and their teacher in their one room rural school. This personal narrative picture book details the actions of two ordinary heroes who braved the Nebraska weather winds to rescue these children and bring them to the warmth and safety of a neighboring ranch.
This book is truly a family affair. The book details a true account from Charles Sharp’s life in the sandhills of Nebraska and was created as a tribute to him by his three daughters, N. L. Sharp, C. A. Sharp, and C. J. Sharp.
