Thanks to all of you who joined us at either the launch for the Omaha Magazine on October 30 or the Forever Heroes Reception at the Methodist Church in Fremont on November 4. We were very fortunate to have Mike Kelly from the Omaha World Herald give our Reception a “shout out” in Saturday’s paper. Thirteen of our veterans were able to attend, and more than 125 folks came to thank them and hear their stories first hand.
This week, I am hosting a chance to win a free autographed print copy of The Ring Bear at Goodreads. Next week, we will be featuring 5 days of free downloads of Kristin Ganoung’s wonderful cat book George and the Stolen Sunny Spot from the Amazon Kindle Store.
Thanks again for supporting Prairieland Press, our books, and our authors. And thanks for spreading the word about our upcoming Book Giveaways with your friends and family members. Feel free to send them to the Prairieland Press website where they can sign up for the emails there and feel free to share the news about our newest award winning books!
And don’t forget, take time this week (and every week) to thank a Veteran!
Spread the word! Each week, Prairieland Press sponsors a giveaway of one of its books on either Goodreads or Amazon.
This week, we are hosting a giveaway on the Goodreads site of the flip-over book: The Flower Girl, The Ring Bear. This book is a former winner of the Nebraska Center for the Book Awards Program. Thanks for stopping by and good luck with the giveaway!
The Nebraska Writers’ Guild, a professional association for writers of all disciplines, literary agents, educators, publishers and librarians that helps people to improve their craft, is hosting a writing celebration and program in Norfolk, Nebraska, called Six Corners of Nebraska. It is in honor of Nebraska’s 150th Statehood Anniversary, and will be held at the Northeast Community College Student Center.
Prairieland Press will be hosting a booth at the event to showcase our books.
One of our authors, N. L. Sharp, will be there to meet participants and talk about writing her books. N. L. Sharp is a children’s author from Fremont, Nebraska, and has had two of her books included in the Golden Sower Awards Program, which is Nebraska’s Children’s Choice Award Program.
N. L. Sharp has been reading and writing children’s books for more than twenty years. She is a former elementary school teacher and librarian, and has published a range of children’s books, including the middle grade novel Keeping Captain, and picture books for younger readers.
Visitors to the Prairieland Press booth will be able to talk to Sharp about the writing process, as well as pick up tips on how to write their own children’s books.
